With the recent new enactment being implemented by the Government, this being Republic Act No. 9514, otherwise known as the Fire Code of the Philippines – this is an excellent and proactive improvement to the fire safety regulations required in the Philippines on new buildings and modifications of existing buildings. In a country where tragic fires have left too many people devastated with the loss of property or even worse the tragic loss of life of loved ones, this is a very good move forward to reduce fire risk. While the technology and equipment are slowing improving for firefighting response by the various Fire Fighting Departments around the Philippines there are still many gaps, having Passive Fire Protection (PFP) systems fills a lot of those gaps and gives the Fire Fighters a lot higher chance of saving lives and property by preventing or containing fires if they do occur.
