Slate is the more European version of Terracotta. Slate is a rock that’s more or less easy to shape and form. Like Terracotta they tend to be quite non-porous – but unlike Terracotta, they have no need for an additional glaze coating to ensure their waterproofing.
Slate may be a bit harder to source here in the Philippines which may mean it’s more expensive, and; while they are tougher than Terracotta, they are also still prone to breakage.
MC Home Depot itself does not carry Slate roofing tiles however!
